but the accompanying sculptures of saints survived because they had been removed for restoration

The poster has been dated by the Mary Evans Picture Library to 1947

The poster was once storied folded and there are pinholes int he corners

The credits are to Le Ménager for 'conception'

Here he has taken a characteristically oblique and simple approach to his subject

whose real name was Adolphe Jean-Marie Mouron

Size 33cm x 45cm

but this painting of the Harlequin had been a gift from the artist to the city of Barcelona
