Hanewald-Schwerdt Sauvignon Blanc Kalkriff 2023Hanewald Schwerdt is a partnership between Thomas Hanewald and Stephan Schwert who have taken over the running of their family winery. They are members of 'Generational Riesling', a body made up of the best young winemaking talent in Germany. Their focus is on dry wines, primarily made from Riesling and Pinot Noir (Spatburgunder) which express their vintage and vineyard. We have a limited supply of their Pfalz Sauvignon Blanc at a very special price.

this is a delicious red blend of Grenache

gentle oak spice and a savoury edge

There is a gentle creaminess from lees ageing

Dried flowers and chamomile

followed by a minimum of 4 months in bottle

that will beautifully partner a range of food

then blended and matured to allow both fruit and terroir to shine

aromas of grapefruit

It has an intense and interesting bouquet of lemons

The dark-fruit flavours carry through with a touch of earthiness and gentle spice

The palate is richly-structured yet elegant
