Stone Mortar 04Our antique stone mortars come from the Shandong Province of China were traditionally used to crush herbs. These handmade stone objects were hand carved and have beautiful ageing from years of use, believed to have been crafted c. 1950.
All of our ceramics are handmade

Our Kaya bowl is part of our collection of ceramics from the Swedish artist Enriqueta Cepeda
with each central design of the stool carrying its own story
Each vase and vessel is handmade using traditional techniques and has a very earthy and rustic aesthetic that works perfectly for any space
they hold great significance and are often featured in Somalian poetry and literature
We love this unusual design
Often the bowls have a distinctive and unusual flared lip which is the result of an intensive process where the wood is softened with water and then bound with strips of leather which are tightened over a period of time until the desired shape is achieved
