Two Nikes | Double Victory of Samothrace | Vintage Resin Sculpture after Salvador Dalí
Description
Two Nikes | Double Victory of Samothrace | Vintage Resin Sculpture after Salvador DalíSalvador Dal designed Two Nikes or Double Victory of Samothrace in a limited edition of 6 bronzes in 1966. The piece was an homage to his friend the surrealist writer Raymond Roussel the piece seems to me to suggest a meeting of two great minds. Resin replicas were manufactured in an unknown edition around the same time. Condition is very good save for one bumped corner at the faux marble base.
Wear to frames and some dampstains
Early Victorian religious book offering guidance and comfort for sinners- which I suppose
which pairs beautifully with the green tones
apparently- I found several examples with this image of a devil sharpening a woman’s tongue
these chapbooks were published by the American Tract Society for children
This tiny antique silver crown is just the right size for a small saint statue and is Spanish or Portuguese
Because they are glass on all sides
in place of the Pope and Popess cards
and are increasingly difficult to acquire
so it’s a little shaky
bordered by silver Dresden paper trim
The print is in excellent condition and presented in a Victorian wooden frame
